Fantasia "Side Effects of You"
Finally got around to picking up Fantasia's new album, "Side Effects of You" yesterday. I have to say it's a very consistent album from beginning to the end. I got the Target edition which includes 2 bonus tracks which flow right along with the sequencing of the album.
This definitely rates higher than her last album, "Back To Me" which seemed to go in different directions and not really settling into any particular spot.
"Side Effects of You" includes a few guest appearances including Kelly Rowland (whose own new album drops in June) and Missy Elliott on the current single, "Without Me", and Big K.R.I.T. on the opening number, "Supernatural Love".
The first bonus track, "Haunted", features a variety of appearances including Tank, King Los, Al Sherrod Lambert and Jamia. The 2nd bonus track, "To The Heavens", has Fantasia giving thanks and calling out to legends that left too soon including Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley. It's not by any means a somber song though and has a beat that picks up entering into the chorus that sticks with you.
Overall, very solid effort despite reports that it won't have high sales numbers during the first week, but should have enough to break it into the Top 10.
