Eclectic Music Guy Version 3.0

 Hi Everyone!

I've been on and off this blog for so many years now.  I was active for a while and then let it fall to the wayside.  In 2023, I decided to launch it again and after a few posts...well, radio silence.

So now, October of 2026, I'm trying yet again!  I'm about to hit the big 4-0 soon and want to be more engaged with the things I enjoy and what do I enjoy more than anything?  MUSIC

To catch anyone who's visited before up to speed, or if you're new, here's what's been happening:

In July of 2025 my husband and I moved from Chicago to Urbana, IL.  It's been quite a change of pace and after a year we're still adjusting to life here.  We miss the quite a bit about the city, mainly the ease of doing things and having a lot of options available to us.  One great thing though is that we went from a one bedroom apartment to a house, so its been nice having space plus a fenced in yard for our two dogs to run around in.

Speaking of dogs, Charlotte and her mom, Ivy, are doing well.  Charlotte had a cancerous tumor removed and has been undergoing chemotherapy, but she's been doing well and thriving.  Ivy is Ivy haha...very set in her ways.

I'm still working in the early childhood education field and love it.  It still feels rewarding after a few years of being in it and the kids bring a huge joy to my daily life.

Music wise...still heavy into collecting vinyls.  I don't do CDs as much as I used to and will chose vinyl over disc any day of the week.  In our house I have my own media room where I can have all my vinyls on display (alphabetical by artist) which has been such a nice change of pace.  I also keep an Excel spreadsheet up to date so if I'm out and about and wonder if I have a record or not, I can pull it up and check.

I'd like to do postings on some of my favorite albums, special records I'm attached to, some oddities I've found and artist collections.  I also would love to be able to share concerts I've collected over the years and ones I've recorded myself.  I'm not quite sure how to go about that yet, but it's something I'd love to do (if anyone has any ideas, please let me know).

I'm no longer on any of the socials, so email is the best way to communicate.
